I am an interdisciplinary artist and designer based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal, with Afro-Caribbean heritage. My work lives at the intersection of story, setting, and sensory experience. Rooted in Barbados and Jamaica and shaped by my experiences in theatre, dance, opera, and film, I design environments and garments that encompass both individual narratives and collective memory.

 

As a set, costume, props, and production designer, I’ve worked across Canada for the past decade. I’ve brought designs to life with multiple layers, bold colours and varied textures. My work has been recognized with a Jessie Richardson Award nomination and with a META Award for Outstanding Costume Design. Whether working on a poetic solo, a large-scale theatre piece, or a site-responsive performance, I create for the body, for the space it moves through, and for the legacy each story carries.

 

My design process is shaped through collaboration, and is guided by reverence for ancestry and the power of transformation. As I move more deeply into creating and producing interdisciplinary installations and performances, I remain grounded in my training as an interior designer and my experience as a visual artist. I’m currently developing Stories Around the Calabash Tree, a performance series rooted in Caribbean folklore and the lives of women from the African Diaspora, blending narrative, movement and immersive design.

 

My practice is now increasingly aligned with sustainability in both a physical and spiritual sense. My personal healing journey, including my ongoing recovery from DCIS (non-invasive breast cancer), has made space for new rhythms and questions: What kind of art nourishes? What kind of creative future sustains? Drawing from my growing archive of fabrics and repurposed materials, I am exploring how design can be both regenerative and expansive.

 

Through every project, I embrace cultural hybridity, and shape spaces where stories can root, breathe, and transform.
